Description
The Center for Children and Families is redefining the way children in crisis are being served in communities throughout Louisiana and a few counties in Central Mississippi (Copiah, Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Warren, and Yazoo). What began in 1999 as a tiny back room office, has now grown into a thriving, nationally recognized non-profit agency that stands as a beacon of hope for those in crisis situations. Their passion is to promote safe, healthy environments through advocacy, counseling, education and prevention.
The stated values of The Center for Children and Families are:
- Community
- Respect
- Integrity
- Service
- Teamwork
- Empowerment
- Excellence
These values have been identified over time as the key factors in the long term success of the Center and are not high-minded theory saved for discussions at staff meetings and retreats. They believe that these values are present in every employee of the Center and are the foundation for their philosophy, culture, and practices.
The Center for Children and Families' four main programs (CASA of NELA, CAC of NELA, Therapeutic Services, and the Delta Initiative) are based in their Monroe, Louisiana, office, serving families throughout the Northeast Louisiana region. With recent expansions, however, their agency is now offering Therapeutic Services to our area.
